Individual, Couples, & Family Therapy
The last few years have been life-changing for all of us in so many ways, with the pandemic, increasing violence, working from home, and just balancing it all – things that have created tension in ourselves and our relationships. Talking with a professional can help you handle it all with grace and clarity. We can help you see how to navigate the ever-changing world and your reactions to it with a simple, common sense approach.

HCEC’s Anger Management/Domestic Violence Program
We all get angry and frustrated. We are human beings. But understanding the source of your frustrations will help you catch yourself and change your reactions. Just because you have developed habits of arguing, yelling, or physically reacting to frustrating situations, doesn’t mean you can’t learn a new and easy way to change your reactions.
HCEC has been providing Anger Management and Domestic Violence programs for over 35 years. Our groups are small and welcoming – even the most shy members feel at ease asking questions or sharing their stories.
Outpatient Substance Abuse Treatment Program
Substance abuse is an increasingly growing problem these days. Stress, physical pain, peer pressure – the reasons it starts are different for everyone. That’s why treatment for substance abuse needs to be individualized for each person – people have different reasons for starting to use and are at different levels of being able to quit. HCEC works respectfully with each person in our program and designs the services that meet each individual’s needs. We meet our clients where they are when they contact us and develop a program designed for their success.
Parenting can be challenging and exhausting. It can also be the best experience of your life. Sometimes both at once! Parents contact HCEC for help with learning to understand their children and their own reactions to them. They want to understand how to do a better job of shaping and nurturing their children, while still keeping their own emotional balance.
HCEC offers individual and family counseling to parents and guardians for children of all ages.
Think you might benefit from counseling but you aren’t sure? An assessment could help with that. Our experienced, licensed professionals can meet with you to discuss your concerns and goals and help you make a plan.
No transportation? Can’t make it to the office? On another island? Maybe telehealth is for you. Using the HIPAA/privacy-protected version of Zoom, HCEC provides the most secure platform for telehealth that there is. Meet with your counselor from the comfort of your home or other private location. Our counselors have been providing telehealth services for many years, so they can help you feel comfortable with this newer way of feeling better.
